「探索未來─朝邦的理想願景」

朝邦文教基金會自1999年成立以來,今年邁入第15年。年初正好是回顧與展望的關鍵時間點。基金會的董事與夥伴們在1月8日,利用一整天的時間進行「探索未來-2019年朝邦的理想願景」。整個流程由夥伴們輪流上場引導除了產生豐富的討論結果,其附加價值就是成為參與者,再度親身經驗這些流程,體驗對話動態,更能同理客戶在參與討論對話過程中的心理狀態。

回顧基金會成立之初,是為了紀念母體企業「三陽金屬工業有限公司」故董事長顏朝邦先生。一路走來有許多轉變,終於在2008年找到定位,以「建立個人、組織及社會的對話與優質溝通文化,促進社會正向改變;」為宗旨。期盼從聆聽、探詢的對話中、豐富視野,建立尊重、包容、參與的文化;進而產生社群、行動,促進社會正向改變。我們是夢想與行動的對話平台,共創健康多元的公民社會。 

1999年迄今,朝邦觀察到與公民參與有關的社會趨勢:

  • 愈來愈多的社會運動公民覺醒,需要更多的對話空間與技巧。
  • 非營利單位對於對話力及引導的需求日益增加。
  • 公民力量崛起;政府公權力挑戰升高。
  • 大眾與團體需要對「對話、引導」有更多的認識和了解。
  • 政府組織已開始運用引導的技能於組織上;盼未來更頻繁。
  • 政府、NPO在公民意識及參與開始有創新作法。
  • 更多例行的本地或國際年會注入「對話」活動,促進與會者的智慧與經驗交流。
  • 更多跨領域 (民間、政府、企業的合作,協作 [Collaboration] )、系統性的問題和解決方法。
  • 要不斷的培養全球性的學習和共創能力。

朝邦內部的變化:

  • 朝邦的發展從捐款、贊助到聚焦「對話力」 的相關活動與服務。
  • 朝邦的對話引導服務對象/機構:從一次性到持續性。
  • 朝邦逐漸成為NPO、NGO的引導活動的首選單位同時引導量需求增加。
  • 因應時勢運用適當的團隊對話工具,舉辦民間參與的對話活動:如【想像台灣】開放空間會議系列,跨世代對話。
  • 持續引進新的對話與引導的工具。

浮現朝邦的核心價值觀

核心價值觀就像我們的GPS,引導我們作正確的決策與策略,協助我們在日機萬里的忙碌工作中,專注真正重要的事情。核心價值是就是我們行為準則的基礎, 我們如何工作,如何做決定,如何與別人不同,甚至未來發展的基本元素。它們不是口號,而是在日常工作行為上呈現出來的一種精神文化特質,也是個人或組織自我期許的指標。

透過夥伴們的體驗分享,浮現出存在於朝邦的核心價值觀:

  • 滋養信任的夥伴關係:我們將內部團隊以及服務對象視為有信任的夥伴關係
  • 同理心共創價值:對話力的基本元素之一是同理傾聽。我們相信由同理心出發,追求共同點,創造更大的價值。
  • 精進個人對話能力促進關係和諧:相信對話力從個人修練開始,最終目的在於促進關係和諧。
  • 相信對話力會帶來正向改變:相信透過參與式對話,能化解衝突、改善關係,進而帶來正向的改變。
  • 開放並包容多元 連結國際資源:與時俱進不斷吸收最新相關的資訊與技能。

在有限的人力與資源之下,透過許多志同道合的夥伴在不同場域共同推動「對話力」,自2008年推行至今已邁入第6年,也創造許多共同對話的機會。

展望朝邦未來五年的願景:

  • 擁有堅定永續多元性的團隊夥伴。
  • 成為引領「組織、團隊、社會」對話的領頭羊。
  • 成為實質的社會企業。
  • 結合正向改變的專業團體,共創附加價值。
  • 拓展海外服務。
  • 對話力成為全民文化。

這樣的理想需要我們每個人從自身做起,持續個人「對話力」的修練與學習,希望對話的網絡能夠觸及更深遠,為社會創造更多的對話機會;時勢所趨「對話力」已成為國民素養的重要品質之一,更期待這份正向的力量能夠普及在社會大眾的生活之中。然而這是「滴水成河」的文化工程,我們歡迎您加入這個對話文化運動!

Exploring the future: CP Yen Foundation's Vision

As we enter the 15th year since CP Yen Foundation’s 1999 establishment, the start of the new year is a good time to reflect upon and look forward to some key points in time. On January 8, 2014 some of the CP Yen Foundation’s directors and core partners spent a full day exploring our vision for the future up to 2019. The partners took turns facilitating the discussions and outcomes. Experiencing the process lent a deeper personal learning about the dialogue dynamic and helped us better empathize with our client’s experiences during our programs.

The foundation began in commemoration of San Yang Metals Ltd. Chairman Mr. Chao-bang Yen and has over the years has expressed its mission of promoting positive social change through an individual, organisational and community dialogue culture through a variety of services. Ultimately we believe that deep listening and inquiring enriches one’s horizons, builds respect and an inclusive participative culture which in turn produces community, action, and positive social change. Our aspiration is to serve as a platform for dreams and actions that co-create a healthy and diverse civil society.

From our reflection, the CP Yen Foundation observed the following social trends since 1999:

  • An increasing awakening of civil society activists to the need for dialogue spaces and skills;
  • An increasing demand for dialogue and facilitation by nonprofit organisations;
  • A rising citizen power and increasing challenges for government authority.
  • Greater awareness and understanding of public and organizational needs for dialogue and facilitation;
  • Governmental organisations using facilitation techniques with increasing frequency;
  • Civic awareness and participation generating innovations in governments and NPOs;
  • Local and international conferences increasingly using dialogue processes to enhance exchanges of participant’s knowledge and experiences.
  • Increasing interdisciplinary collaboration between civil society, government, and business to resolve systemic problems; and
  • An ongoing need to cultivate global learning and co-creative abilities.

CP Yen Foundation Internal Changes include:

  • The foundation’s services have transitioned from donations, sponsorships to dialogue-based activities;
  • Foundation clients have transitioned from one time to repeated participation;
  • Requests for the foundation’s facilitation services have increased;
  • Dialogue has shown to be an appropriate tool for citizen engagement as seen in the cases of the Imagine Taiwan open space and cross-generational dialogue program series; and
  • A continuous introduction of new dialogue and facilitation tools. 

CP Yen Foundation Core Values:

Our core values guide us like a GPS in making right decisions and strategies and helping us drive the thousands of miles in our busy workday whilst focusing on the things that are really important to us. Core values lay the foundation to our behavior, how we work, how we make decisions, how we’re different from others, and are even the basic elements of our future’s development. Core values are not slogans, but emerge from the spirit and cultural traits of our daily work, and are the indicators of individual and organisational aspirations.

The Foundation’s core values as expressed in our partner’s experience sharing:

  • Nourishing trusted partnerships in the foundation’s core team and clients;
  • Empathic co-creation is a fundamental starting point for dialogue; 
  • We believe that the ultimate goal of personal dialogue practice is the development of harmonious relationships.
  • We believe that participatory dialogue resolves conflicts, improves relationships and generates positive change.
  • Open, inclusive and diverse connections to the global community: the foundation is committed to continuously incorporating new related information and skills appropriate to our times.

Despite our limited workforce and resources we thank the many like-minded volunteer partners from different fields who since 2008 have advanced dialogue and collaboration together.

Looking into the CP Yen Foundation’s future, here’s our five year vision outline:

  • Develop a strong, sustainable and diverse team of core partners,
  • Become a leader of organisational, team and social dialogue,
  • Become an operational social enterprise,
  • Collaborate with organizations working for positive change and co-create added value
  • Expand overseas services,
  • Support dialogue becoming a nation-wide movement and culture.

Such ideals require each of us to begin with ourselves, continuing personal dialogue practices and learning. We hope to develop a far-reaching dialogue network and create more opportunities for society. Popularizing dialogue to become an important part of national literacy, and looking forward to the spreading of positivity across community life. Like drops of water collectively forming a river, we welcome you to join this dialogue cultural movement!
